The top question on everyone’s mind is… What are the most popular names? Some want to see their favourite names on the list. Others do not. Here are the Top 20 Most Popular Girls & Boys Names from the Hippo Blue National Name Day event (April – May 2016).
Following names did not rank in the Top 20, but are in the Top 100. More importantly, they are just hip names. Kids with these names won’t be wallflowers, for sure. And chances are their cool and edgy parents will raise them to have strong opinions and personalities.
This is a list of names that were outside of the Top 100, but definitely need an honourable mention for their appeal. Part of their appeal is that they are uncommon, yet easily roll off the tongue and are easy to remember.
Unisex names have been very popular for a while. They are ambiguous, modern, stylish–no wonder they are so popular! So much so that it’s just a category in itself (not a trend).
The collection of names was such a wealth of information. What I loved most of all was finding the trends lurking in the names. I believe names are a reflection of our greater society — our values and our beliefs.
